Minnetonka’s Advanced Learning services are designed to meet the needs of students who may be intellectually gifted, academically advanced, or both. By having a variety of services—each thoughtfully designed to extend specific learning strengths—we provide additional challenges to students in the areas they need to grow and flourish.

Some students demonstrate exceptional strengths in reasoning, problem solving, and learning. These learners often show advanced abilities to synthesize information, think critically and creatively, recognize complex patterns, and understand abstract concepts at an earlier age than their peers. 

Minnetonka serves intellectually gifted students who demonstrate cognitive abilities in the 98th percentile or higher on nationally normed measures of reasoning and intellectual aptitude. Because their learning needs can differ significantly from grade-level expectations, they benefit from specialized opportunities that provide appropriate challenge, depth, pace, and intellectual peer interaction.

In Minnetonka Schools, intellectually gifted learners may be served through the Wings Program at the elementary level and Advanced Learning Crew Academy at the middle school level. For students with exceptionally advanced learning needs, the Navigator Program provides a full-time learning environment designed to offer rigorous academic challenges alongside a community of intellectual peers.

在一项或多项学术领域表现卓越的学生。所谓卓越表现，是指学习水平远超年级标准，并能以创新且复杂的方式掌握和/或运用知识。学术拓展、学术深化、独立探究和PROJECTthink等项目，均面向小学阶段的学业优异学生。荣誉课程和加速课程则满足初中阶段学业优异学生的需求。明尼通卡高中提供无与伦比的学术选择，让学生能够充分体验高中生活，追寻自己的兴趣，并为大学和职业生涯做好准备。

各校均提供拓展学术能力的途径，包括校内实践活动以及课后学术社团和活动。许多学生都有机会参加地区、州级和国家级学术竞赛。
